Assessing the Teaching and Researching Performance of the Faculty Members of Islamic Azad University-Central Tehran Branch

This research is intended to evaluate the teaching and researching performance of the faculty members of Islamic Azad University-Central Tehran Branch.The descriptive- survey method was used as research method.The Statistical population includes all faculty members of Islamic Azad University-Central Tehran Branch at the academic year of 1389-90 which was about 995 persons.A sample size of 275 people were selected by Morgan, Daryle W., Determining Sample Size.The study instrument of measuring data was a questionnaire that formulated by faculty members’ Promotion Regulations.
The results indicate that the performance of faculty members of Islamic Azad University-Central Tehran Branch in writing papers, Student Theses, observing respected academic discipline and educational values, teaching quality,teaching quantity, compiling textbooks, application of new methods of teaching is more than the minimum privileges of the new regulations designed to promote faculty members,and performance in the areas of technology, innovation, exploration and acquiring national festivals’ rank, presentations of research projects,evaluation, , arbitration of articles and researches,book translation, critical edition of the book and republication is less than minimum Privileges which is Considered based on the new regulations to promote faculty.
