How and why of the secular Savior in Apocalyptic Hollywood Cinema

This paper investigates how and why of the secular Savior in Apocalyptic Hollywood Cinema according to human conceptions based on westernized world environment from two sources; the ideological identity of Christian theology and the essential characteristics of modern world.
The idea of the savior in Hollywood is rooted in the foundations of Christian belief, and it is depicted based on the basis of apocalyptic Christian theology. It depicts a hard fate for the land and its people and marked critical in connection with the divine savior will emerge to save the earth.
But the important thing is that in the last half century messianic savior de-sacralizing identity and secular savior has changed. This semantic evolution of the celestial savior is transformed to secular saviour (sometimes anti-religious and secular trends) and is rooted in the thinking of the modern world such as rationality (rationalism), humanism, scientism, secularism and individualism.
Thus, the film industry provides a quite modern secular image as a product of the modern world, not only in terms of technique and structure, but also in storytelling, and provide the image of the savior of humanity as a godlike hero, but regardless of any religion and religiosity.
