Abstract:
There is a close relationship between cultural capital and driving behavior but this issue has been hardly ever investigated. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between cultural capital and traffic anomaly of drivers in Yasouj. To do this, a survey-based research was conducted. The population of interest is all drivers in Yasoujin which380 cases were selected using random multi-stage sampling method. Research instrument for traffic anomaly is Manchester’s (1990) driving behavior and the instrument for measuring cultural capital is a researcher- made questionnaire that its validity was measured using factor analysis and its reliability was calculated by means of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The research findings show that there is a negative relationship between cultural capital and traffic anomaly among drivers. The conclusion of the present study is that; with increasing driver’s cultural capital can reduce traffic anomaly among the drivers in Iran.
