The Senate from ancient Rome to the Iranian constitutionalism

The comparative analysis of the Senate in Persia and other countries, particularly those in Europe that somehow played a role in the formation of the Iranian constitutionalism, helps us to have a clearer view about the formation of some entities in the era of the foundation of parliament in Iran. This article present some attempts to provide a terminology about the history of the Senate from ancient Rome to the modern Persia and sequentially aims to analyze, in a comparative manner, the history of the Senate in Iran and Italy. In this study, in addition to the indications regarding the influence of the Iranian parliament from European legal systems, particularly the French parliament, we tried to describe the influences of European legislative mechanisms on the Italian political system.
