Symbolic Position of the Color in Resistance Literature in Kaiser Aminpour and Mahmoud Darvish Poetry

Abstract:
Symbols play an important role in meaning transference and depiction in today's literature. One of these symbols which has been used smartly by poets is the color. Thus the resistance poets express their expectations and aspirations by stating different colors in their works. For instance Kaiser Aminpour in Persian literature and Mahmoud Darvish in Arabic literature create many mysterious associations in cultural, religious and historical fields. The color (element) is an important features in imagery and is also one of significant elements of two poet's language. The present article studies the symbolic colors as the symbols of resistance in the abovementioned poet's poetry. The analysis of four main colors – green, red, yellow and black – which are the most frequent used colors in their works. The method is analytical – descriptive and the results show that both poets applied the black color as the symbol of sadness and grief, the red one represents objection, yellow shows depart and being far from the goal and green signifies resistance and opposition.
