Job performance forecasting based on emotional intelligence and personal characteristics in police organizations (case study: Mashhad holy city eighth imam special unit forces)

Emotional intelligence which has the ability to employ the power of thinking and to understand feeling and to create emotion in dealing with problems is very important. Importance of emotional intelligence in daily life for public in general and for police personnel in particular cannot be ignored. Much of prior research in this field has proved the irrefutable role of emotional intelligence in daily life .Recent research has implemented with the aim of studying the relation between emotional intelligence and job performance in police organization by focusing on Mashhad holy city eighth imam special unit forces. For this aim, Mashhad holy city eighth imam special unit forces selected for statistics population .400 persons selected from among personnel by regular random method from organization personnel list for participation in research. Present research is applicatory –descriptive. Regarding data and information collection, the research method of analysis –descriptive and library –documentary and field research were used. For data analysis, statistics methods such as regression analysis and by combination, excel proccing software and SPSS analysis software were used. The research results indicated that meaningful and positive relation between emotional intelligence and police forces jobs performance exist. Also in this research the results indicated that by controlling personal characteristics and epistemic ability, emotional intelligence explained a great deal of variance in job performance.
