Patterns of leisure time and related social factors

Case study 18 to 29 years of Kurdistan youths Theoretical framework of this study is based on theories of Rojek, Stibens and Bourdieu and studies the situation of leisure time among youths as one of the social groups influencing the dynamics of cultural, social and political deal. Survey method and questionnaire have been used to collect data and analyzes has been made. The study population consisted of 18 to 29 years old in Sanandaj, Baneh and Qorveh in Kurdistan province and multi-stage cluster sampling has been used, 400 of them were selected. Based on descriptive findings, normal and abnormal amount of leisure time among youth is low. Among normal and abnormal aspects of leisure time , the highest average spending on leisure is casual and atypical. Multivariate regression analysis showed that cultural capital, social capital and age, explain 4/40 percent of the normal active pattern of leisure time and social capital and economic capital explain 5/34 percent of abnormal pattern of leisure time.
