Selection of Third Party Logistic Distribution Centers: A Case Study

Abstract:
Organizations around the world are seeking for tactics and techniques in order to survive in today's turbulent competitive environment. One of these approaches is outsourcing logistics supply chain operations in terms of third-party logistics companies. The results of the researches in supply chain, confirms the importance of third party logistic companies and the synergy of these companies for their users. These companies given space and time in different areas such as maritime, aviation, information technology, and dangerous goods are involved. One of the areas of activity, such as the dairy industry is in the area of perishable products. The company is a newly established company, subsidiaries of Kalleh Iran, seeks to distribution centers for the distribution of dairy products across Iran. In this study an appropriate locations are chosen for distribution centers of a third party logistic company within fifteen different potential locations in Iran. Finally, eight distribution centers are selected utilizing stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis and weighted aggregates sum product assessment.
