Historiography in Ancient Iran, its nature and style with respect to different approaches to the concept of History

Abstract:
Although the great empires in ancient Iran, caused great changes in the world, however the lack of a tremendous historical works in this period, made some historians conclude that ancient Iranians have no knowledge and monuments. In this article, it is tried to show that there has been a type of historiography in ancient Iran on the base of evidences and documents. Its accuracy is confirmed by historical resources of other nations.
This historiography had special characteristics which was defined in the form of ideology and religious history regarding. Historical events and human's role in history were interpreted via this insight. This historiography which was defined in framework of Zoroastrian theology was not the same with what ancient Greek historians interpreted. The Iranian style of historiography offered a narrative from human and its place in the world which is in contrary with new definitions from human's nature and place as an absolute historical creature. Therefore, this historiography is different with characteristics of modern historiography and also differs from a historical work which is called "scientific".
