Clinical and official user's readiness for hospital information system implementation in Valiyasr Hospital of Boroujen

assessing users’ knowledge based on the latest technologies during implementing an information system is of high significance. Therefore, this study aims to assess the readiness and awareness of clinical and official users about hospital information system while system implementation.
in this descriptive - analytical study, population was the clinical and official users of Valiasr Hospital of Borojen. Census sampling was carried out. Samples consist of 60 users (31 women and 29 men). To collect data, a researcher-designed questionnaire were used developed based on the assessment of computer knowledge of users (10 components), the possibility of a good education (10 components), the self-description of the system (12 components) and the system adaption with users requirements (19 components) according to standard ISO 9241/10 .
The score mean of computer knowledge of users was 44.27 ± 17.5 the average score of a favorable education to users was 45.36 ± 8.38 mean score of self-description of the system was 47.34 ± 15.57 the average match score of system with the Users requirements was 39.45 ± 15.00. Besides, there was no significant relationship between computer knowledge of users and the possibility of favorable education (P=0.29) but there is a significant relationship between computer knowledge and self description of the system and also adaptation with the users’ requirements (P=0.008).
Executive managers and policymakers must evaluate level of users’ knowledge, system identification and meeting users’ requirements through system to increase their productivity through attention to be effective.
