Quality of life in patients candidate for coronary artery bypass graft surgery in Zanjan

Introduction and
Purpose
Coronary artery disease as common chronic disease has significant effects on various aspects of health. It can affect quality of life of patients. The aim of this study was to determine the quality of life in patients candidate for coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
Materials And Methods
in this descriptive cross-sectional study, 64 inpatient with coronary artery disease and candidate for coronary artery bypass graft surgery in Ayatollah Mosavi hospital of Zanjan enrolled in study. Data were collected by demographic and Mcnew quality of life questionnaires. . Data were collected in the day before the bypass graft surgery and were analyzed by SPSS software version 16.
findings: participants consist of 44 male and 20 female with mean age 58/78±9/4. Findings showed that quality of life in participants was relatively good. Women had significantly lower quality of life than men.
Conclusion
due to the impact of coronary artery disease on patients quality of life, health care providers should plan to improve quality of life in this group of patients.
