An Investigating of Developmental Barriers of Sport for All in State Universities of Tehran City and Presenting Developing Strategies

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to investigate developmental barriers of sport for all in selected state universities of Tehran city and to present strategies to developing it. The method of this study was descriptive-correlation and application in terms of aim. The statistical population consisted of all male and female faculty members of faculties of physical education and sport sciences of selected state universities of Tehran city. As the population was limited, census method was used for sampling. Data were collected by a researcher-made questionnaire; its face and content validity was determined by professors and its reliability was calculated by Cronbach alpha coefficient (a=0.90). The results indicated that nine categories of barriers influenced developing sport for all in universities: policy making and planning barriers, cognitive barriers, financial barriers, educational barriers, legal barriers, information barriers, human barriers, personal barriers and infrastructure barriers. Finally, strategies were introduced to develop sport for all in universities.
