Qur an and Media Literacy with Emphasis on News and Journalism

When the destruction of news media and unhealthy trends is talked, it is the great destruction that its range encompasses all of society, so we need to set up media literacy in our society, that its components are not the same components that are discussed in Western media literacy. The main question is whether the Qur’an has guidelines on media literacy and tasks of the audience of news and news agencies? In the point of view of Qur’an the media literacy of the audience of new agencies is not act of anonymous and neutral. Based on the teachings of the Qur’an media literacy helps to have a better judgment on the news. Qur’an in this regard emphasises on components such as: The task of audience in dealing with news and unhealthy currents, the audience duty in the face of news content, the ways of facing the audience with news; in which Inflammatory news reporters identified, consciousness against the attacker and heretics newsmakers, , disregard for the press and journalists affiliated to the deviant schools, the need for research in the news, how to deal with bad and void news, paying attention to the content of the news and not just the reporter; avoidance of excitement on hearing the news and to investigate aspects of the news are regarded.
