Abstract:

The South Western part of Iran which for Arab conquerors was very significant in the early Islamic conquest era soon turned to a battle field in which Sasanid soldiers began to fight against Arab invaders. Initially occurred in the boarder lines then stretched over North East and Transoxania, the battles eventually caused surrender to Arabs by some Asawira, Ahamira and Bukhariyya. The main question is: what was the status of captivated Iranian fighters among the Arab tribal army? Applying descriptive-analytical approach, findings show that the Iranian fighters were soon taken to account for their competence and capabilities by Arab commanders and chiefs. They received alike or relatively higher privilege than their Arab counterparts in the battle fields using their military skills and experiences to the benefit of Arab chiefs. The Iranian fighters at the same time independent in making decision, stayed away from the tribal conflicts between Arabs.
