The Application of Military Robots in the Armed Conflicts in the Light of Principles of Humanitarian Law

Military robots have been used for monitoring and evaluation of armed conflict situations. However, regarding debates such as the fight against terrorism and targeted killings, the developed and developing States have been drawn to semi-autonomous and fully autonomous weapon system. The most significant challenge for these technologies is to comply with the International Humanitarian Law. There are important rules on weapon and the targets in Law of Armed Conflicts which should be respected by soldiers or commanders. Now the question is how military robots could perform all the rules such as proportionality, responsibility and distinction in the present article, the aforementioned principles and the compliance of military robots with those principles are discussed.
