Meta-analysis of studies around the area of relationship between social trust and sense of social security

The purpose of this study is to meta-analyze of researches on relationship between social trust and the sense of social security to estimate the effect size of social trust on the sense of social security. The study population includes all researches about the subject metter done by the end of 1393. Via purposeful Sampling, 27 studies were selected suitable for meta-analysis. In order to analyze the collected data, the Second Edition of comprehensive meta-analysis (CMA) software is used and due to heterogeneity between studies, the random effects model was used to combine the results and the effect sizes. The estimated effect size in the samples is 0.478 that according to Cohen's interpretation system reliability is in the confidence interval. Due to the heterogeneity of studies, gender was selected as a moderating variable that the results of its analysis showed that social trust of men had a greater impact on the sense of social security than that of women. In fact, it can be said that the sense of social security of men is more affected by social trust than that of women. Actors engage in all levels of interactions with a variety of interests and expectations. If there isn’t generalized social trust among them, their interactions declined, and they feel unsafe in such a situation.
