Examination of some Islamic theologians on the Nature of Angels
Author(s):
Abstract:
World of existence is made up of perceptible and imperceptible beings. Some of these beings are in the range of and discoverable by human senses while others are beyond the capacity of human sensation and reason. Of the latter category are angels. Had it not been for Quranic revelations and Islamic traditions, they would not have been known to us and their characteristics, species and individuals would have remained hidden for our fellow human beings. Belief in angels, however, is so important in holy Sharia of Islam that is regarded as one component of doctrinal pillars beside faith in God, resurrection and Prophecy. Since Muslim theologians have relied on Quran and Sunnah in such matters and their arguments had great impacts on the belief of the public, their view on the nature of angels, their visibility and excellence in comparison with human beings will be worth noting and the present article attempts to have review on the views in question
