Reliability and validity of the goal adjustment scale

Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to examine the reliability and validity of the goal adjustment scale among university students. The study sample consisted of 200 (100 male and 100 female) undergraduate students of Shahid Chamran University. This sample was selected by multistage random sampling method from the 8000 undergraduates in the year 2013.
200 students responded to Goal adjustment Scale (Worsch and et al, 2003). For determining factorial validity of the scale confirmatory factor analyses was used. Reliability was computed using Cronbach alpha and test-retest reliability. confirmatory factor analyses provided evidence for two factors of goal adjustment ( goal disengagement and goal reengagement) for students .The two factors explained 73/42 percent of the total variance and overall Cronbach’s alpha was 0.92. Also, the test- retest method confirm reliability of goal adjustment scale. So, the results of this study support reliability and validity of goal adjustment scale among university students in Iran and researchers can use it in Iran.
