Transmigration of Plato and MullaSadra's Criticism of Plato's Iidea

Based on the idea of immortality of soul and the theory of soul’s realization in the world of Ideas and it’s descent into the material world, Plato supports the idea of soul’s reincarnation after this life. Through the doctrines of ‘the human soul is bodily in its advent and spiritual in its survival’, ‘substantial movement of the soul and its emerging from bodily existence’, MullaSadra has rejected reincarnation. This paper having explained Plato’s thought on reincarnation, will examine MullaSadra’s view on this concept and that how he believes that Plato’s reincarnation is a celestial transmigration.
