Identification of Common Effective SNP Markers for Body Weight and Some Cut- Up Carcass Traits in Japanese Quail

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to investigate common effective single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) on two and four week body weight, breast and carcass weights traits (slaughtered at 28 days of age) in Japanese quail. For this purpose, phenotypic data of 105 birds and 12798 SNPs were used. Phenotypic correlation among the interested traits were estimated using a multiple (four) trait model, such that the effects of sex and hatch were considered as a fixed effects.
