Comparative study of Flixweed properties from the perspective of traditional medicine scientists

Abstract:
Introduction
Due to the prevalent usage of flixweed among people, the aim of this research was a comparative study on the properties of flixweed from the perspective of traditional and modern medicine scientists.
Methods
This study was carried out by the use of traditional medicine reference books such as Al-Qanon, Al-Hawi, Makhzanol Aladvyh, Alsydnh fi Tibb. The key words for traditional medicine were “Khobbeh”, Khakshi and Khakshir. Also, the key words of flixweed, Descurainia sophia, Sisymbrium irio and Sisymbrium sophia were used in databases such as scopus, pubmed, medline, google scholar.
Results
The most medicinal properties of flixweed are: emollient, cardiotonic, anti-parasitic, laxative, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic, facilitating the delivery and use for intestinal disorders such as diarrhea or constipation and hemorrhoids, stomach tonic and digestive.
Conclusion
Modern medical researchers were confirmed many therapeutic applications of flixweed.
