Abstract:
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of some priming methods on the growth and seed germination of wheat grass (A. touri). Seed priming is a technique by means of which the seeds are physiologically and biochemically prepared for germination before being placed in their beds and facing the ecological conditions. In order to investigate the effects of osmopriming and hormopriming on the growth and germination of A. touri, this experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design with five treatments and four replications in the rangeland laboratory of University of Mohaghegh Ardabili. Treatments included: osmopriming (prime with KNO3 with 0.3% and 0.2% concentrations), hormopriming (prime with GA3 with 500 and 1000 ppm concentrations), and control (distilled water). The analysis of variance showed that the osmopriming and hormopriming had significant effect on the growth and germination of A. touri in germination percentage, germination rate, wet and dry weight, vigor index, allometric coefficient, and mean germination at p
