Critical analysis of the al-Duri's view of the origin of Islamic historiography

Abstract:
The origin of Islamic historiography is a topic that orientalists and Muslim scholars have given different views about. Abdul Aziz al-Duri, a Muslim scholar, describes the two lines of hadith and tribe as the axis of Medina and Iraqi historiography schools. The origin of Islamic historiography is rooted in the school of Medina, which could depict prophet’s tradition and prachices through avoiding tribal traditions including (proclamation,sentences,poems)and based on the serious research and methods of the Mohaddes. In this article, the methodological and analytical methodology of Al-Duri's arguments in relation to his claim are criticized and rejected, and the forms and traditions of the tribe by which that the Medina scholars have also been influenced is known as the origin of Islamic historiography.
