An Investigation of the Effect of Knowledge Sharing on Organizational Learning, Innovation and Performance

Contemporary organizations need effective knowledge management to be prepared to face broad changes in the future. This research has investigated the effect of knowledge sharing on organizational learning, innovation and performance.Based on literature review, a model has been used which assumes that knowledge sharing has direct impact on organizational performance, and indirectly leads to enhancement in organizational performance through organizational learning and innovation.The model was tested by data gathered using questionnaire from research population consisting of 600 individuals, and a sample of 320 individuals including managers, engineers, and experts in Mashhad Water and Wastewater Company. Data analysis and hypotheses testing was done using structural equation modeling approach, and using SPSS22 and AMOS22 software.Research findings indicated that knowledge sharing has positive impact on organizational learning, innovation and performance. Furthermore, sharing explicit knowledge has more influence on financial performance, and sharing implicit knowledge has more powerful influence on operational performance of the company.
