University libraries in the era of modern technologies

New technologies have had a great influence on the way of planning, choosing a variety of services and the way of information dissemination in university libraries. Being coherence with the development of new technologies, it can increase attractions and satisfaction of the libraries. These changes in academic libraries are the subject of many articles and books. This article, by reviewing the works published in Iran, addresses the strengths and weaknesses of the book “modern services in academic libraries”. The book consists of six papers, all of which focus on new services created by the introduction of new technologies in academic libraries. The book involves specialized content and intended to provide relevant contents, also the presenting method is well. But as shortages we can refer to absent of explanatory footnotes, the limited use of just one source for a large part of the content, and the lack of a comprehensive introduction.
