Challenges about the Zarif discourse challenges

Discourse is one of the basic concepts of the last three decades. This concept, albeit is operatively centuries-old and we can derive from historical studies in some way different discourses, but its existence as a scientific and analytical issues is the product of the research of the second half of the twentieth century. Despite the fact that this concept is interdisciplinary, there is no general agreed definition of it. One of the reasons is that semantic extensions can have different meanings. Discourse, however, can dominate a thought, politics or paradigm, which has the character of ideology and hegemony. As the definitions of discourse are numerous, its analytical methods are also varied. What matters in these methods is the discovery of the hidden logos and in fact the non-obvious meanings of the text and how they relate to different interests and different intertextual context. From the other hand, the discussion of discourse with an interdisciplinary base, at the fields of politics, culture and communication, creates a kind of diplomacy that the author calls “discursive diplomacy.” Discourse diplomacy, beyond public diplomacy, is seeking to create various discourses at the national, regional and global levels to achieve the desired goals. In this essay, we intend to review and evaluate a book by Alireza Dabbagh on discourse discussions shaped around Facebook page of Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and also review the “discursive diplomacy” which is ,in fact, the most important way he used during the course of the ministry’s term on the Iranian nuclear case.
