Predicting the achievement motivation in adolescents based on risk perception, combination of thoughts, and coping responses

The aim of the present study (correlation study) was examination of the relationship between risk perception, blending thoughts and coping responses achievement motivation in adolescents with the aim to see the model was anticipated. That each contribution in explaining their motivation. 240 patients using cluster random sampling method were selected. To assess the hypothesis of this research study the correlation of risk perception scale of Bentin and the intersection of thoughts questionnaire, coping responses questionnaire as well as achievement motivation questionnaire of Hermans were used. For analysis, Pearson correlation and stepwise regression model were used. The results showed, in stepwise regression there is a significant positive correlation between all dimensions of coping response and thought-event fusion. Also coping response was more positively correlated with achievement motivation. The results showed in the adolescents who are problem-focused with high thought-event fusion and use coping strategies, their motivation is higher and get better academic achievements.
