Economic Factors Affecting the Light-Rail Transit (Kermanshah Case Study)

Metropolises of the best and cost effective to reduce emissions are to reduce consumption of fossil fuels. For this purpose, the use of electric rail fleet in the city unfolds. Now, gases emitted from cars and fossil fuels, as well as regional dust has caused major poles of Kermanshah from agriculture, industry and services, not only in the country but in the world of visual pollution of the cities considered highly polluted. The aim of this study was to determine the factors affecting the economic justification is light-rail Kermanshah. The research, engineering economics analysis after determining the costs of construction and operation as well as an accurate estimate of all income slightly, Economic Analysis has been the subject of research. The study tracks are: right teacher (north of) the right to liberty and the right to freedom of Ferdowsi Square (downtown). The results show that the methods of engineering economics, including methods of net present value scheme, the ratio of benefits to costs, internal rate of return and value added economic and positive of all parameters and also due to reduced consumption of fossil fuels, reduce travel time, reduce accidents and environmental conservation Kermanshah light-rail project is economically justified. The results of studies conducted in this study may help in other metropolises in Iran for Urban rail transit system to be used.
