Abstract:
The population in mega cities in this era is facing and enormous increase, although infrastructure especially the urban transport has not been able to compete this growth, therefore the traffic congestion within these cities has increased in multiple. In this regard managing the zoning codes and traffic easing by the use of traffic simulations software has become essential. The purpose of this research is to focus on the urban traffic flow analysis of Kianabad and kianpars district in Ahvaz mega city by software simulator modeling.
The method used in this research is based of practical and Descriptive- Analytical research. For the purpose of conceptual research the use of data gathering through library and E-journal documents and for the traffic data by field registering of traffic flow and number have been the main sources of this research. The analytical stage the research has used Arc-Gis and AIMSUN software in order to simulate and develop the necessary map.
The research findings indicate that among four analyzed scenarios in this research, the one way direction scenario, installation of traffic light scenario, network management scenario and the mass transport scenario in relative order have the higher quality output in easing traffic flow in the AIMSUN model. Finally network of one way street scenario and the installation of traffic lights have the higher positive effect in the easing of traffic flow. It is important to emphasize that without the land use management and forecasting in all scenarios the modeling may result with problems in effectiveness.
