The effect of breathing intervention on anxiety levels in patients undergoing hemodialysis of shahrekord hagar hospital

Chronic kidney disease is a progressive disease with a poor prognosis. Chronic illness and prolonged need for dialysis lead to mental disorders such as anxiety. The recent study aimed to the effect of breathing anxiety level of patients undergoing dialysis.
This study was a clinical trial. Sampling was available and a sample size of 100 patients undergoing hemodialysis. A randomized sampling was done on experimental and control groups on different days. The experimental group received breathing intervention for eight sessions in a month and under the guidance of a nurse and the control group received routine care. The research instrument was a tow-part questionnaire of demographic data and Spielberger's State-Trait Anxiety Questionnaire. Data were analyzed to descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation), and inferential statistics (independent t-test, repeated measure and chi-square). Were used SPSS statistical software version 18 and P The mean scores before and after the situation anxiety in the control and experimental groups showed a significant difference. This difference in the control group was lower at all times than the experimental group. (p ≤ 0/000)
