The Relationship between the Patient's Safety and Nurse's Team Working in Surgical and Intensive Care Units in Gilan Province Selected Hospitals

Patient safety is one of the most important and vital issues in the health systems of different countries. Team working and communication are very important in preventing and reducing medical errors. This Study aimed to investigate the relationship between the patient's safety and nurse's team working in surgical and intensive care units in Gilan province selected hospitals.
This analytical study was conducted in 30 selected hospitals in Gilan province in 2015. The statistical population of the study consisted of all nurses working in surgical and intensive care units (n = 600), and safety authorities of 30 selected hospitals. Team working data were collected by the teamwork assessment questionnaire and the patient's safety data by the checklist of mandatory standards of patient safety. Data were analyzed by spearman correlation and SPSS 16 software.
