Abstract:
One of the most important part of the Manichean Myths, is Resurrection and Eschatology. In spite of the fact that, various Manichean texts of different sects and languages have similar ideas on Resurrection and Eschatology, and all other aspects ,yet we can find some basic differences in these references. This article, tries to distinguish the differences between the Middle Iranian texs of Turfan and Coptic Kephalaia texts ,regarding Resurrection .Turfan Texts , are written by Manicheans of Dinawariye sect, in central Asia, and Kephalaia is written by Manicheans of Egytpt. In both narrations, when the world comes to its end , a part of light is captured by the darkness for ever . The basic differences between narrations, rooted in the world view of these two parties have three main points:1)In the Turfan texts, Divines do not feel sad for the eternal captivity of a part of light in the darkness. But in Kephalaia, They know it a great disaster.2)Regarding to the first case , and according to Turfan references,Divines are deprived of human features but in Kephalaia, they are more similar to human and have the same pains like fear and sorrow .3)In the Turfan texts, the main reason of eternal captivity of a part of light, is disappointment for salvation, while hope, does not have such an important role, in Kephalaia. In the end, we analyze the impact of Iranian and Egyptian culture on these differences.
