A review of HIV / AIDS prevention interventions in Iran

The World Health Organization (WHO) is knows the most basic strategies to deal with behavioral problems and promote public awareness, specifically, the nature of high-risk behaviors and Its problems, transmission and prevention. The purpose of this review is to investigate HIV / AIDS prevention interventions in Iran. In this review article, the related and appropriate article in Persian and English were collected from databases of ISI, PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, Google Scholar, Magiran and SID using the keywords of education, health education, AIDS / HIV, knowledge, attitudes, behavioral theory and English equivalent from 1395-1382. Among 130 related articles, 35 articles were included in final analysis . 95 articles removing for repetition and screening of the title, the abstract and the main text. In this study, the articles were divided into two main categories: 1- The studies that educational intervention were based on theories and models (15 Articles (42.9%)); 2. The studies that educational interventions without using theories and health education models (20 studies (57.1%)). Health promotion interventions have been positively influenced in factors. It is recommended that in the design of educational interventions, the implications of stigma be addressed to patients in order to influence and improve attitudes and behavioral beliefs in the community
