Abstract:
This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between psychological capital components (self-efficacy, hope, resiliency and optimism) and academic burnout among college students. The research method was descriptive and correlational and the study population included the students of Faculty of Social Sciences University of Kermanshah in 2015-2016 among whom 200 students were selected by simple random sampling. Research tool consisted of academic burnout questionnaire and the Psychological Capital Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and enter method multiple regression analysis. The results showed that there were negative significant relationships between psychological capital components (self efficacy, hope, resiliency and optimism) and students’ academic burnout. Also the results of multiple regression analysis method showed that all psychological capital components including self-efficacy, hope, resiliency and optimism predict students’ academic burnout significantly, and these variables could predict 0/69 of changes in academic burnout for students.
