Studying the Genetic Variation of Achillea spp.Medicinal Plant in Kohgilouyeh and Boyerahmad Province Using SRAP Molecular Marker

Qualitative and quantitative recognition of genetic diversity is of great importance in the biological sciences. A reduction in genetic diversity can reduce the suitability and adaptability to environmental changes. Molecular markers,which are used for studying genetic variation,function based on the detection of the (polymorphism) differences between nucleic acids which belong to different individuals. Achilleamillefoliombelongs to Chicory and is found all over the globe. It has more than 100 species, of which, 19 species have been identified in Iran and are distributed in different geographic and ecological regions. In the present study, 20 specimens of Achilleamillefoliom grown in four different regions of Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad (Mela Shor, Kakan, Tang-e-Sorkh, &Patavah) were genetically evaluated using 16 primitive SRAP compositions. The co-fennytic similarity coefficient was calculated and UPGMA dendrogram was illustrated using SRAP data. SRAP data were categorized in four genetic variation clusters using Nsys Pc software. Genetic analysis showed a genetic similarity range between a relatively high population of at least 0 to 7.26.
