Correlation Between Language skills and social skills in children whit dyslexia

Abstract:
Objective
Language acquisition is one of the most important components of development that social interaction plays fundamental role in this procedure. Results of research in this field showed there is a strong relationship between language skills and social skills. The aim of this research was to investigate relation between language skills and social skills in children whit dyslexia.
Method
This correlation study followed a descriptive method. The sample included 60 children with dyslexia diagnosis were selected by available sampling among centers of learning disorders in Sanandaj. The study instruments included the test of language development (TOLD-P:3) and the social skills questionnaire- parent form (SSRS). Data were analyzed thorough correlation coefficient.
Results
The results showed there is a significant correlation between language skills and social skills in children with dyslexia.
Conclusion
these results highlights the relation between language skills and social skills in progress of development and by presenting appropriate educational programs it is possible to promote level of these skills in children especially in children with dyslexia.Keywords:
