Author(s):
Abstract:
Hyacinth-Louis Rabino was the British vice-consul in Rasht during Iranian Constitutional revolution events. He is an important person in the historiography of Iranian contemporary history and has written important books about the history and geography of three regions of Guilan, Mazandaran and Golestan (Astar-Abad) that are all referred to so much. His activities during constitutional movement and his diaries about it and his deeds around ancient Persian heritage are the important issues that should be studied. Intellectual circles, whether leftist or rightist, including Seyyed Hassan Taqizadeh has praised him without doing any investigation or at least been silent about him. Even after the victory of Islamic Revolution, independent historians have not done any notable work about his activities and writings to introduce him correctly. Here in this article the author tries to excavate the life and activities of Hyacinth-Louis Rabino about Iran in a methodological documented way. The author has referred to the first hand existing resources about Hyacinth-Louis Rabino and his original works.
