The Effect of Intelligent Applications of Math Training on Problem Solving Skills and Student Avoidance-Solving Problems

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using intelligent math education programs on problem solving skills in undergraduate students. The research method was semi-experimental and based on pre-test and post-test design with control group. The statistical population of the study was all female students of Allameh Tabatabaei University in the academic year of 2016-2017. Due to the applicability and interoperability of the subject of teaching and teaching the students' prerequisite units, by using available sampling method, among the Female college students at the Faculty of Economics and Statistics, thirty students of the first year undergraduate who were attending the course were evaluated and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. The research tool was Hepner and Patterson problem solving skills questionnaire with a reliability of 76 /, and Long / Cassidy problem-avoidance-problem solving questionnaire with a reliability of 77.7. Covariance analysis was used to analyze the data. Data analysis showed that 63% of the riations of the experimental group in the problem solving variable were due to the effect of the independent variable and 45% of the changes in this group in the tendency-problem avoidance variable due to the effect of the independent variable, The research hypotheses were accepted and the findings indicated a better performance of the experimental group in problem solving and tendency-avoidance variables.
