Mediating Role of Job Stress and Emotional Exhaustion on the Relationship between Compulsory Citizenship and Job Satisfaction

This research was done with aim of investigation mediating role of job stress and emotional exhaustion in relationship between compulsory citizenship behaviors and job satisfaction. Research method was correlation and research's statistical population was all of employees of governmental organization in Zanjan city that 212persons were selected by using convenience sampling among them. Research's instruments included compulsory citizenship behaviors questionnaire (Vigoda- Gadot, 2007), job stress questionnaire (Golparvar et al, 2012), emotional exhaustion questionnaire (Mulki et al, 2006) and job satisfaction questionnaire (Macdonald& Maclntyre, 1997). Data were analyzed by using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results indicated that there is positive and significant relationship between compulsory citizenship behaviors with job stress and emotional exhaustion but there is negative and significant relationship between compulsory citizenship behaviors and job satisfaction. Results of structural equation modeling (SEM) revealed that job stress is complete mediator variable in relationship between compulsory citizenship behaviors and emotional exhaustion and job stress and emotional exhaustion simultaneously are partial mediator in relationship between compulsory citizenship behaviors and job satisfaction.
