Investigating the Influence of Railways Infrastructure on the Export Volume of Selected Countries

Abstract:
The economic goals of developing countries are to improve trade, including exports and presence in international markets. The emergence of effective policies for export development is to identify the factors affecting exports. One of these factors is transport infrastructure. Which is one of the most important factors shaping modern society today? The essential role of transport in shaping the economic structure in societies has always been the focus of transport infrastructure in the context of economic development. In the meantime the rail transportation due to lower power, lower emissions, safety and high passenger capacity has more benefits than any other fleet. The objective of this study, the effect of rail infrastructure as a sub-segment of transportation on the volume of exports of countries D8 during the period 1995-2014 using panel data and GLS methodology has been investigated. In this study, the rail lines have been used as a railroad  infrastructure. The results indicate the positive and significant impacts of rail infrastructure on the volume of exports of countries.
