The Principles of Resistance Economy According to Imam Ali (AS) and Islamic Jurisprudence

Resistance economy is a form of Islamic economic system. The idea of resistance economy was first introduced by Ayatollah Khamenei to address Iran's economic challenges and problems. That is also based on the principles of Islamic jurisprudence and narrations of infallible leaders that emphasize on the innate capacity and power of the Islamic society to encounter and confront liberal capitalist economy and consumerism. Thus, not only do they provide short-term solutions to do away with crisis but they also offer long term strategies to strengthen and consolidate the economy of the Islamic society. With reliance on them, it is possible to get rid of the modern day problems. The writer making use of textual documents and analysis and relying on Shiite's dynamic jurisprudence, sayings and conducts of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (AS) has endeavored to mention certain principles and strategies to help realize resistance economy. These strategies include avoiding short-selling, prodigality, preventing hoarding, avoiding usury, preventing others' losses, taking steps towards the dignity and independence of the Islamic society, pursuing social justice, preventing wastefulness and waste of resources which the Sacred Lawgiver of Islam has mentioned in line with the resistance economy.
