Abstract:
The theory of obedience to the Islamic ruler is one of the prominent views of the political thought of the Hanafi Deobandies. One of the aspects of the scope of obedience to the ruler in the view of the Deobandies is the conditionality of this obedience in cases such as: "compliance with the ruler in the good deeds", "disobedience to the ruler in the sins" and "withdrawal and standing against the ruler if he commands for rebel and disobedience". This research analyzes the reasons for this theory and also examines the principles of obedience to the ruler in the eyes of the Deobandies. The results indicate that the followers of the Deobandi school believe that the relationship between religion and politics is a requirement of the government; compliance with and obedience to the Islamic caliph is absolutely stated, and the affiliation to the religion in their intellectual system, in the field of obedience to the ruler are meaningless, but what is important for the Hanafi Deobandies is that the religious ruler has the necessary conditions and components of role-playing in society. They believe that obedience to the ruler is based on rational and traditional evidences.
