The Role of Islamic life style and Meta-cognitive Skills in Motivating the Academic Achievement of High school Students in Kerman
Islamic lifestyle and metacognitive skills are factors related to student's academic performance. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of Islamic life style and meta-cognitive skills with the motivation of academic achievement among high school students in Kerman.
In a Descriptive-correlational study, 332 students in District 1 of Kerman were selected using multistage cluster sampling method and using the margin of error Cochran. The Hermann's motivation questionnaire, Islamic life style questionnaire and metacognitive skills questionnaire were used for data collection. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis (stepwise).
The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between Islamic life style and metacognitive skills with the motivation of academic achievement. These results also indicated that Islamic lifestyle had predictive for motivation of academic achievement. These results also indicated that from components of metacognitive skills, Planning and self-reliance were able to predict the motivation for academic achievement.
According to the results of this study, Islamic lifestyle and meta-cognitive skills are important variables affecting the students' academic motivation and should be considered in educational planning.
