Critical Evaluation of Interpreting Qalb as Reason, in Ibn Arabi’s Commentators

The idea of qalb in the works of Ibn Arabi is one of his most important and central point, and all his epistemological thoughts are understandable in relation to it. This idea, which has been understood by most commentators of Ibn 'Arabi, with reference to the viewpoint of Muslim intellectuals about the reason, is often perceived as an expression of the aghl considered by Islamic philosophers. An interpretation that, given the importance of the idea of the qalb in the opinions and thoughts of Ibn Arabi, must be evaluated and carefully balanced with respect to the ideas of Ibn Arabi in his work. In this paper, we try to evaluate the concept of the qalb as a reason, as an aghl-e qabel, and also as a reason in the common sense.
