The relationship between sensation seeking and general health among male and female students of Islamic Azad University- Roudehen branch

Abstract:
This study investigates the relationship between sensation seeking and general health among male and female students. This non-experimental research is co- relational. The study includes all students in the academic year of 89- 90 ofIslamic Azad University-Roudehen branch. The study sample includes 315 students who were selected through multistage random sampling. In both groups, Zuckerman's Sensation Seeking Scale and the General Health Questionnaire GHQ were conducted and finally multiple regression analysis was used to test the research hypotheses. The results are as follows:There is a significant relationship between de-inhibition component and  public health. There is no significant relationship between 5 variables of sensation seeking and physical symptoms. There is a significant relationship between de-inhibition and experience seeking components with public health. male students public health (GHQ) = 17.914+0.242 (de-inhibition) female students public health (GHQ) = 6.132+0.248 (experience seeking)+ 0.234 (de-inhibition)
