The Study Demographical and Economical Characteristics of One Child Families in Iran during 1385-1390 Censuses

Men and women are real wealth of every nation. Dynamics of a society is subject to the reasonable increase in fertility. Fertility in Iran has declined dramatically in the past decades. Today, one of the new emerging demographic phenomena is the one child phenomenon which is the major concern of demographers and politicians. Our research question would be “The Study Demographical and Economical Characteristics of One Child Families in Iran during 1385-1390 Censuses”. In order to reply the question we used descriptive research with demographic approach. The results show that the one child rate in the country has increased from 23.9 percent in 1385 to 28.5 percent in 1390. The highest rate is allocated to Gilan province with 28.9 percent in 1385 and 34.1 percent in 1390 and the lowest rate has earmarked to Sistan-Baluchestan and Kohkiloye-Boyer Ahmad with 16.2 percent in 1385 and Sistan-Baluchestan with 18.4 percent in 1390. The number of only child households increased approximately 6.4 percents, it is predicted that by the year 1430, the growth of one child households , will reach nearly 50 percent. It is recommended that, by considering the differences in various parts of the county , for increasing child bearing , there should be a change in demographic policies, officials and demographic experts in the field of demographic policies to reach the same convergence In this area for example mass media.
