The Relationship between the Use of Mobile Phone and Internet with Social Alienation of Students

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to survey the degree of mobile and Internet dependence with social alienation of students of Azad University of Gonabad. Regarding the method of data collection, it is a survey type and in terms of purpose and in terms of research method, correlation. The statistical population of the study consisted of all undergraduate students of Gonabad Islamic Azad University, which were active in the university during the period of 2018. The student population were 700 people that 250 student were randomly selected as the samples by random sampling by Cochran formula. Data were collected through Social Alienation Questionnaire and Mobile and Internet Affiliation Questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was determined by content validity method and the reliability of the questionnaire was calculated using Cronbach's alpha test for social alienation questionnaire equal to 0.81 and dependence on mobile and Internet was 0.88. Subsequently, using spss software in the descriptive part of the study, the descriptive and inferential data obtained from the statistical sample were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and regression and t-test independent variables. The results of the research showed that there is a relationship between the degree of Internet and mobile affiliation with social alienation among university students. Also, there is a relationship between the degree of Internet and mobile affiliation with the amount of feeling powerless, anomalous, senseless, social isolation, hatred there is a cultural and self-hatred relationship among students.
