Avicenna`s Approximation to Mulla Sadra in Rabit, intermediary, and Rabiti, Copula, Existence
The topic of cause and effect is one of the important and longstanding issues of philosophy that has been subject to considerable semantic change over the course of history and eventually led to an independent and interactive discussion in Sadra's philosophy. As viewed by Mulla Sadra, wujudi rabit differs from wujudi rabiti; but the problem that whether philosophers before Mulla Sadra have found it out or not, is an issue which is examined in the paper based on Avicenna`s works. With regard to the fact that belief in the effect`s wujudi rabiti is not compatible with monotheistic nature, it may not be acceptable that a deep philosopher like Ibn Sina, having been of essential effect in appearance of Mulla Sadra's philosophy, has stopped in the level of wujudi rabiti. Ibn Sina's attention to the inherent need of contingent being shows that he has approached idea of effect`s wujudi rabit.
