This study was conducted with the goal of identifying the relationship of marriage expectation and distress tolerance with marital adjustment of women. The research method was of correlation type; the statistical population of this study included all married women visiting the AyinMehr consulting center located in district 3 of Tehran, during the last 3 months of 2017 whose number was 240; the sample size volume was 137 people who were selected as the sample in access. Marriage Expectation Questionnaires, Distress Tolerance Scale, and marital adjustment was implemented as a research tool on a sample group. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation tests and multivariate regression analysis. The findings showed that there was a significant positive correlation between the expectation of realistic marriage and distress tolerance with marital adjustment. This means that as much as expected from an idealistic and pessimistic marriage, the marital adjustment will be less, the findings also suggested that the marriage expectation and distress tolerance could predict the marital adjustment of married women.
