Survey of Sustainability in Vernacular Spaces of Bandar Lengeh Case study: Baber Chamber
Vernacular architecture of Bandar Lengeh includes a special architecture style in a region with warm and humid climate in which native residents could build barber chamber by obtaining a full knowledge of the climate. Since no serious study has been performed on the effect of barber chamber including sustainable spaces in vernacular architecture of Bandar Lengeh so far, the present study is performed with the aim of identification of various frameworks of Barber chamber (structural, operational and spatial) to survey their usage rate. To perform this survey, a compressed section of native spaces of the region that included baber chamber (36 buildings with a history over 70 years) were qualitatively and quantitatively selected and evaluated. The results indicated that analysis of building method, types of spatial operations of baber, surveying the location, types of form and dimensions of plan, determining the type of interaction with surrounding spaces are among the factors that affect the use of barber chamber and could affect user's comfort as a sustainable model in creating natural ventilation space.
